My friends that are in touch with the ‘here and now’ say if you want more exposure as a musician ‘you need to blog’. So here is my first installment of what I hope will be a weekly/monthly (ok maybe yearly) post. Upfront I must confess that blogging to me appears to be a bit self indulgent and adds to a world crammed full of facebooked, tweetered, blogging over sharers. I tend to adhere to the philosophy “What’s wrong with a little mystery?”. I find it to be more intriguing then knowing every persons every thought or action of every day. That gets…well boring. So, you ask, aren’t you contrasting your own philosophy by starting your very own blog? Perhaps. I have poked around and read some very interesting stuff so I’m not proposing that all blogging is nonessential. It does provide a convenient vehicle to share new and inventive ideas just not to the point of nauseating, day to day detail. So on my future installments I hope to share my thoughts on what I find fascinating like songwriting, the recording process, new local artist that I’ve met and want to promote and a host of other related music topics. Feel free to comment as the one significant benefit to blogs is dialogue. Thanks.
